The P&C is the bridge between the school and our community. The P&C works with the school on things that are important to our community. We help on projects that are important to the school. And it's a great way to meet staff and parents, and learn more about the school.
You don't need to join the P&C to volunteer for any of the P&C events or projects. But we'd like you to join us! Members have voting rights, so you can participate in P&C decision making or help operate the P&C. Joining the P&C is nearly free. You need to pay a $1 membership fee.
Being a member doesn't mean you're signing up to do lots of work. You decide how much time you can offer. If you want to join the P&C executive or lead a project, you can. But if you want to just turn up to a meeting every now and then, that's also perfect!
We welcome anyone that's eligible. The details are here, but put simply, any parents, carers, school staff or residents of the Marrickville Public School catchment can join.
Joining or renewing is simple. You need to pay a gold coin as a membership fee, and register as a member either:
In person, at a P&C meeting (see our calendar)
Digitally, via secretary@mpspandc.org (but we need the gold coin membership somehow)
Via the school, by providing written notification and your gold coin donation through the school office.
When you join the P&C you're a member for up to a year. Your membership ends at the P&C Annual General Meeting, and then you need to renew it for the following year.
Join a group (or two).
Come to a meeting.
Volunteer your skills.
